NAF Graduates 56 Personnel From Catering Courses, Strengthens Logistics And Welfare Capability

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has graduated 56 personnel from the Basic, Intermediate and Advanced Catering Courses for 2026 at the Nigerian Air Force College of Logistics (NAFCOL) Annex Kaduna, reinforcing the Service’s commitment to professional competence, personnel welfare and operational readiness. The graduands comprised 20 personnel of Basic Catering Course 6/2026, 14 of Intermediate Catering Course 4/2026 and 22 of Advanced Catering Course 2/2026. The progressively structured courses equipped participants with technical, supervisory and managerial competencies required for effective catering services in support of military logistics.

Speaking as the Special Guest of Honour, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, represented by the Chief of Logistics, Headquarters NAF, Air Vice Marshal Henry Yurkusi, described catering as a critical component of military logistics, with direct implications for personnel morale, health and operational effectiveness. He charged the graduands to apply their knowledge with professionalism, discipline, teamwork and accountability, stressing that military catering encompasses food safety, hygiene, quality control and prudent resource management. He also urged NAFCOL to sustain high training standards while adapting its curricula to emerging technologies, industry trends and best practices in catering and hospitality management. 

Earlier, the Commandant, NAFCOL, Air Vice Marshal FCS Uwakara, reaffirmed the College’s commitment to developing skilled logistics personnel in line with the CAS’s Command Philosophy, particularly the key driver of “Standardized Training and Mission-Focused Capability Development.” He noted that the College Headquarters had been operationalised in Enugu, with arrangements underway to relocate its four schools, while subsequent catering courses will commence at the NAFCOL School of Catering in Enugu. He commended the Dean, instructors and training team for their dedication, and urged the graduands to translate their training into improved service delivery, responsible resource management and continuous professional development. The ceremony underscored NAF’s continued investment in human capacity development and institutional strengthening.
