9TH GHANA-Nigeria Leadership Summit/Achievers Award: A Platform For Effective Bilateral Cooperation
Abuja, the capital city of Nigeria on Thursday 5th September, 2024 hosted the society creme de la creme and industry players from Ghana and Nigeria as the Ghana Nigeria Achievers Award Foundation hosted the 9th edition of the global event.
The event started with a beautiful display of African culture by the Thunder Dancers, music rendition and different speeches from invited dignitaries.
Comrade Barry Ndu Nwaihim, convener of GNAA while giving the opening remarks stated that the reason for the event was in recognition of the enormous intellectual and mineral resources evident in both countries and the need to continuously collaborate in making Africa a better place for all. He called for more flexible business opportunities, inter country collaborations and unity in attending to the needs of citizens. He emphasized that the time used for unnecessary jollof rice and football rivalry should be channeled into thinking out ways on how these two great countries can benefit from resources available within.
H.E Amb. Eddison Agbenyagah, Ghana’s Deputy High Commissioner to Nigeria appreciated the organizers for such laudable initiative. He noted that such events help in consolidating on the good relationship between Ghana and Nigeria. The Diplomat said that there are a lot of business opportunities to be invested in within the two countries and asked investors to do well and visit to see inherent potentials. He assured of the support and collaboration of the High Commission even in subsequent editions.
Dr. Jayne Onwumere, GMD of PWAN Group, the first Real Estate network company in the world commended the vision behind the initiative, she pledged total commitment and support towards the 10th edition of the event. The global Amazon who expressed excitement for the honour called on all that attended to keep showing love for humanity, passion for people and excellence in hard work.
Hon. Frank Annoh-Dompreh, Majority Chief whip of Ghana’s parliament who received Africa’s Impactful Member of Parliament Award said that the honour would inspire him and other recipients to keep working for the unity of Africa and ensure that citizens continue to benefit from the dividends of Democracy.
In all, the event was a huge success as about 40 impactful individuals were honoured for their good works towards humanity and enabling a better Ghana, Nigeria relationship.
The organizers said that preparations towards the 10 Edition would start immediately as it is expected to be filled with much more impact. The convener would be launching his book, Ghana – Nigeria Diplomatic Relationship: Beyond Rhetorics soon.
