YABATECH Resumes after Compulsory 4 Weeks Vacation
The Management of Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) has announced that students of the institution are to resume back to school from a compulsory four-week vacation on Tuesday, 29th March, 2016.
The compulsory vacation was as a result of the protest the students embarked upon after the death of one of their colleague at the institution’s health centre.
The students who claimed that their colleague died due to lack of adequate care and proper medical attention were sent home to avoid further loss of life and property damage as the protest was getting violent.
However, the students have been admonished to prepare for the examination they were supposed to commence before the outburst. It has been scheduled to start on Wednesday, 30th March, 2016. Therefore they are to collect their exam docket immediately on the day of resumption.
The authorities also wishes to instruct students who are in the hostel, that they are to sign a mandatory undertaking at the Students Affairs unit and Departmental Head office before entrance into to the hostel, while squatters are to sign an undertaking at the Head of Department’s office only.
