Wizkid and Tems have bagged a total of four joint nominations after organisers of the Soul Train awards announced nominees for the 2021 edition of the annual entertainment award.
The nominations, which were announced on November 2, 2021, had the Grammy-winning singer bagging five nominations and Tems, his collaborator on the hit summer song, Essence, bagging four nominations.
For their collaborative effort on Essence, Wizkid’s and Tems were nominated in the Song of The Year category, Video of The Year category, The Ashford and Simpson songwriter’s award, and Best Collaboration for the groundbreaking single.
In furtherance, Wizkid also bagged a nomination for Album of The Year, for Made In Lagos while Tems bagged another nomination for Best New Artist.
The Soul Train Music Awards is an annual music awards show which honors the best in African-American culture music and entertainment.
It holds on November 20 at the Apollo Theatre.
