Samsung Galaxy Note 8 announced live details from launch

Leaked images, specs, and a UK price for the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 have emerged hours before the high-end smartphone is due to be released.

Samsung has announced the next device in its Galaxy Note series of luxury mobile phones, which have “infinity” displays, a stylus pen and a powerful camera- Galaxy Note 8

Its predecessor, the Galaxy Note 7 was arguably the most attractive smart-phone of 2016 , but had to be recalled after a battery fault caused devices to overheat and, in some instances, explode.

Samsung has recovered consumer trust somewhat with the Galaxy S8, currently one of the best Android phones you can buy.  But the company will be hoping the Note 8 can return the brand to its former glory.

The Note 8 is expected to have a 6.3-inch edge-to-edge display and come with the S Pen stylus. It will reportedly be Samsung’s first handset with a dual-lens camera, the sort found on the iphone7 plus and Android rivals such as the OnePlus 5 and Nokia 8.

The Note 8 will probably feature Bixby, Samsung’s voice assistant and its answer to Amazon’s Alexa and Apple’s Siri, which released in the UK yesterday.

The device could be one of the most expensive Android handsets in the UK at £869.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 is expected to come in four colours, blue, gold, black and silver, and be available in a larger 128GB version, according to the leaks.

One of the big concerns from fans of the Note series is whether Samsung has fixed its battery problems. Last year’s Note 7 suffered from a battery fault that led to scores of handsets overheating, some of which burst into flames.

While the problem did not affect all Note 7 devices, it was a major public relations blow to the company.

Samsung will be determined not to repeat its mistake. The Note 8 is rumoured to have a slightly smaller 3300mAh battery battery with wireless charging capabilities, according to Venture beat.
