The “Tuesday” singer/rapper took to Twitter over the weekend to explain the reasons why he was retiring, despite having such success in a very short period of time.
“Tired of singing and crying in the booth making all these songs for u that’ll you will never hear, I had to let it go, Nobody makes music anymore, nobody truly locks in for a real session.” He tweeted.
He then suggested his new music was so hot that he would put other entertainers in retirement.
“If I could release music how I wanted I wouldn’t retire, but then if did that, so many would have to just retire, so ill accept retire,” he said
Makonnen may be seeking a new recording home, as he was signed to Drake’s OVO Sounds once, but defected to Warner Brothers.
