The School of Communication, Lagos State University (LASU) has become a full faculty on its own in the fast-rising, top-targeting Nigeria’s Best State University.
Daily Independent got this hint late Thursday off the official quarters.
Recall that LASU recently added nine new NUC-approved programmes to its academic curricula shared by six new departments.
As is expected to be announced pretty soon, the school will now go by the name: Faculty of Communication and Media Studies as has just been approved by the 290th Senate Session of the Lagos State University.
Feelers from the campus indicate that the university community appreciates the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello for having played “a motherly role in ensuring this approval”.
An official of the new faculty exuded: “Congratulations to all Professors, Heads, academic, non-academic staff and the world-class students of the new Faculty of Communication and Media Studies.
“We must also place on record the role of the school as the Premier School of Communication in Nigeria that awards seven distinct Bachelor of Science degree programmes as far back as the Year 2000.
“We are Lasu. We are great”.
