Jigawa State varsity gets new Pro-Chancellor

The Governor of Jigawa State, Muhammed Badaru Abubakar has appointed Prof. Saidu Babura as the new Pro-Chancellor and the Chairman of the Governor’s Council of the Sule Lamido University.

The report was gathered through the statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Adamu Abdulkadir, on Monday in the state capital, Dutse.

Prof. Babura is a Professor of Oral Literature with special interest on Northern Nigerian Literature and former lecturer in the Department of English and French Languages, Bayero University, Kano. Bayero University.

According to the statement, also appointed is Dr Muhammad Isah the Chairman, Governing Council of the Binyaminu Usman Polytechnic, Hadejia. Dr. Isah was the Deputy Dean, Faculty of Law, Bayero University, Kano, until the appointment.

Also, Alhaji Muhammad Usman the Chairman, Governing Council of the College of Legal and Islamic Studies, Ringim.

Prof. Kabiru Isyaku was appointed a Member of the Governing Council of the Sule Lamido University, Kafin Hausa.

Isyaku, a Professor of Education, was formerly of the Department of Education, Bayero University, Kano.

The statement said that all the appointments took immediate effect.

The Jigawa State government clearly went shopping in the Bayero University Kano. Bayero University has some of the best faculties in Northern Nigeria.

Meanwhile, Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar is making a major push in Jigawa State as regards education. Besides the massive efforts made with disease prevention, he’s also making a heavy push into education. His administration is willing to pay girls 19,000 to attend school!

Apparently, the methods are sustainable and start to yield results.
