Ibrahim Badamasi Babagida University Admits 2,956 Students
A total of 2,956 new students were admitted into the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University, IBBU, Lapai during the Matriculation ceremony for the 2015/2016 academic session.
Speaking at the event held recently, the Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Mohammed Maiturare, congratulated the fresh students on their admissions and stated that the number of students who are applying for the university’s programmes have been on the increase.
Maiturare stated that out of the 8,186 students that applied for admission only 3,078 were offered admission representing 30 per cent of those that applied for admission.
The VC announced scholarship for 18 students with the best Cumulative Grade for the 2014/2015 academic session of the university.
He said that the scholarship covered the tuition and accommodation of the beneficiary students who maintained a cumulative grade of four points and above and the best in the university’s various programmes.
Prof. Maiturare explained that the beneficiaries will be based on performance of the students and that any student that drops from the present position of best grade will not benefit by next session and that the students were both from 200 and 300 levels of the university.
The National Universities Commission (NUC), wishes to announce to the general public, especially prospective promoters of private universities, the fourteen-step procedure for establishing private universities in Nigeria.
