Tech guru, Elon Musk asked people to stop using hashtags on X, saying the platform doesn’t need them anymore.
“Please stop using hashtags. The system doesn’t need them anymore and they look ugly,” Musk wrote over a post from a user, which shows an apparently edited response from the platform’s AI, Grok, to the question “should I use hashtags or not on X?”
According to Musk, X’s search algorithm and content discovery systems have advanced to the point where hashtags are no longer needed. In his view, they’re visually unappealing and clutter up posts.
