Chams founder Aladekomo to Chair QEDNG Creative Powerhouse Summit 2.0

Demola Aladekomo, the founder of Chams Holding Company Plc, has been named chairman of the second edition of the QEDNG Creative Powerhouse Summit.

The summit is scheduled to hold on August 11 at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos.

Organised by Mighty Media Plus Network Limited, publishers of QEDNG, the event will convene policymakers, business leaders, investors and creative professionals to discuss the future of Nigeria’s creative and cultural industries.

Themed ‘Creativity, Culture and Nigeria’s Next Chapter’, this year’s summit will explore strategies for strengthening the country’s creative economy.

Olumide Iyanda, publisher of QEDNG and convener of the summit, described Aladekomo as an ideal choice to lead discussions at the event, citing his decades-long career in technology and entrepreneurship.

“Sir Demola Aladekomo has spent decades building businesses, championing innovation and supporting institution building. His experience will add real value to the conversations we want to have about the future of Nigeria’s creative economy,” Iyanda said.

Accepting the role, Aladekomo described the summit’s theme as timely and praised QEDNG for creating a platform to advance conversations around Nigeria’s creative economy.

He said he looks forward to contributing ideas that would produce practical outcomes for the sector while expressing confidence that this year’s edition would build on the success of the inaugural summit.

The summit will examine how policy, institutional support and private investment can accelerate growth across key segments of the creative economy, including music, film and television, fashion, gaming, publishing, content creation and technology innovation.

The maiden edition focused on financing as a catalyst for a thriving creative economy and attracted stakeholders from government, business, finance and the creative industries.
