FirstBank has officially launched Bluu TV, a new entertainment hub, as part of its ongoing commitment to nurturing Nigeria’s creative arts industry.
At the launch event on Friday, which also featured the premiere of an original series on the platform, the Managing Director/CEO of the bank, Segun Alebiosu, emphasized that the creative arts sector holds significant potential for driving economic growth in Nigeria.
Through its First@Arts Initiative, FirstBank has recently supported initiatives such as the stage play Kurunmi and the Lagos International Theatre Festival, aiming to promote productivity and job creation within the sector.
Alebiosu, represented by Idowu Thompson, Group Executive, Private Banking and Wealth Management, expressed his enthusiasm: “I am delighted to welcome you to the premiere of A Heart on the Line and the official launch of Bluu TV, a vibrant platform for African entertainment, lifestyle content, and drama—truly a fusion of creativity and innovation. It is an honor to be part of this historic and exciting event.”
Alebiosu also highlighted that the First@Arts initiative has been central to FirstBank’s long-standing support for arts and culture in the country.
Abimbola Craig, Director/Producer of the series, thanked FirstBank for its support, saying, “This project has been two-and-a-half years in the making. What started as an idea has grown into Bluu TV. After its launch, we sought out content for the platform and ultimately chose A Heart on the Line. A big thank you to FirstBank for believing in us.”
