With Hip-Hop as the theme of the week, the 8 remaining bands in this season’s show rocked the stage with renditions of their favourite hip hop songs. We don’t want to be the judges right now because it is getting harder to choose!
Paired in groups of two, the bands went neck to neck against each other to impress the judges and avoid landing in the bottom four – with the prospect of facing possible elimination.
The Elixir Band kicked off the show with a thrilling performance and battled against the Flash Band. The Bandhitz went against Tritunez, and Genial Sounds slugged it out against The Alian Tribe, and finally Update Vibes went against The Benedicts.
The bands all gave their best performances and in a surprising turn of events, The Bandhitz, an obvious fan favourite, were sent to the bottom four, other bands like; Flash Band, Genial Sound and Update Vibes also found themselves in the bottom four. However, the judges – Timi Dakolo, 2Baba and Cobhams Asuquo sent no band home.
Next week, they will all be back on stage to once again prove why they are deserving of the grand prize of N10 million and a brand-new set of musical instruments. The theme for next week is Reggae, and you already know the vibes, ‘Wah Gwaan! Ya man! We can’t wait’!
