Celebrated filmmaker and actor, Kunle Afolayan, has thrown shade at the Nigerian Oscar selection committee for not considering the new film, ‘Anikulapo’ worthy of submission to the Oscars.
‘Anikulapo,’ a collaboration between Netflix and Kunle Afolayan Productions, was released to positive reviews on Friday, September 30, 2022.
In an Instagram reaction, Afolayan said he will not be deterred from making impactful films that will keep breaking boundaries worldwide.
“I am so pleased and delighted that the whole world has decided to tag ANIKULAPO film a masterpiece even though the Nigeria Oscar selection committee thinks its not worth submitting for the Oscars. Will keep doing my own thing.”
