Huawei is making a strong comeback in the smartphone market over Apple’s dominance and the smartwatch segment is no exception in this theory. A new report shows how the Chinese brand continues to rule its home ground, surpassing its rivals.
RUNTO Technology has now published its monthly report on the Chinese wearable online market. The analysis reveals how the top 5 brands have performed in this field and what gains or losses they have made throughout the specific month.
Just like the previous quarter, Huawei continues to rule the smartwatch market in China and challenges opponents like Xiaomi and Apple’s dominance in the field.
The Watch GT 6 maker owns 30.8% of the market share and 30.4% sales share year-on-year. Even though it faced a drop of 2% in the annual growth, the decline is quite negligible.
Devices like the Watch GT 6 Pro and the Watch D2 have maintained the firm’s momentum in the market. Meanwhile, the company is preparing to soon launch one of its best wearable creations in China – Watch Ultimate 2.
Huawei’s market performance is surprisingly comparable to the combined shares of Apple and Xiaomi in the Chinese smartwatch sales report.
Apple is second on the list with 19.3% of the market share and 108.4% YoY of the sales share. Interestingly, the company has earned 6.4% progress this year following some innovative smartwatch launches. Though the company is trying to grow in China, its rivals are giving it a tough time in every market.
Xiaomi is the next in the queue with 12.6% of the market share and 71% YoY sales progress. It is also seeing a positive yearly growth of 2.4%. Vivo has grabbed the fourth place with 2.4% of the market share, while Honor is in the fifth position.
The overall market sales have reached 17.33 million for both online as well as offline channels. That’s an increase of 6.7% compared to last year.
