Victor Essiet sets to hold 3rd Africa Meet Reggae & World Music International Festival
Nigerian international Reggae singer and helmsman of Mystic Records based in the United States of America; Victor Essiet who is the organizer has announced this year’s Africa Meet Reggae & World Music International Festival which is scheduled to hold at the Hockey Pitch of National Stadium Surulere, Lagos, on 26th, November, 2016 during a press conference held at the Combo Hall, LTV, Agidingbi, Ikeja – Lagos.
Victor stated that the positive socio cultural and economic achievement of the past have encouraged to keep the soul of Reggae music flying across the African continent in line with the collective aspiration of Reggae music lovers in Africa and around the world.
He added that since he got the franchise from the organizers of the Africa Meet Reggae and the World International Music Festival based in the United States in 2013 to organize the event in Nigeria and Africa. The maiden edition of the festival which gave Reggae and World music new exposure and awareness to music fans in Nigeria was held in 2014, and its success has made the subsequent festival not only possible, but also successful and encouraging.
This year will parade an array of stars across Africa such as Nkulee Dube; daughter of the late South African Reggae legend Lucky Dube, Big Bob from Sierra Leone, Redfyah and Illest Nana both from Ghana. They will be join by national artistes line up which includes, Maliaka, Presh of KC Presh, Captain Blazee, Saint Peters, Isaac Billyman, Jethro Lyon, Empero Zig Zag, Sweat Reggae Band and Faith Okosu, daughter of the late Sunny Okosu.
Other top headliners that will grace this year’s stage includes magical Majek Fashek, the Mystical Victor Essiet and Mandators, 2 Face Idibia– Tu Baba, Eljai (Belize/USA), Patoranking, King Wadada, Pasuma Wonder, Small Doctor, Oritse Femi, Seyi Shay amongst other notable artistes.
He emphasized that the purpose of the festival is to provide platform for different artistes; the established and upcoming to meet and interact. Adding that the festival to him is giving back to the society, “I am bringing what I have worked for internationally back home into the economy, this is my own way of impacting the economy”. He said.
The regular ticket goes for N1, 000, VIP–N5, 000 and table–N10, 000.
