Caleb Varsity Produces 60 First Class Graduates

Caleb University Imota, Lagos, has produced 60 first-class graduates at its 13th convocation.

A statement by the university said out of the total of 1,209 graduating students, 60 undergraduate students bagged first class, while nine pioneer Doctorate students were produced for the first time. Others are, 428 second class (upper division); 494 second class (lower division).

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof Nosa Owens-Ibie, emphasised that Caleb University had gone into partnerships with leading universities within and outside Africa and, including specific requests for collaboration with the Mass Communication Department.

He said, “The feedback has been heart-warming, and our alumni are spreading around the globe marketing the Caleb brand in a way that reflects the depth, height and dimensions of the investment in them by our team of dedicated lecturers in the idyllic and aesthetically delightsome environment.”

The Pro-Chancellor, Caleb University, Prof. Sunday Ajayi, who spoke on behalf of the Governing Council, paid glowing tributes to the Visitor, Dr Oladega Adebogun, whom he referred to as a great educationist, who had been providing a conducive environment for young people of all professionals.

The Convocation Lecturer, the Lagos State Information and Strategy Commissioner, Mr Gbenga Omotoso, spoke on ‘Closing the Generational Gap between the Old and the Young in Nigerian Politics.’

Omotoso, a veteran journalist and editor, with over 35 years in the media, emphasised the need for Nigerian youth to be actively involved in politics, saying elections should been seen as a matter of right as well as part of the solution rather than a problem to be solved by others.

Eminent personalities at the event were His Imperial Majesty, the Ooni  of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II; Her Eminence, Reverend Mother Esther Ajayi of the Love of Christ International Church, and Guest of Honour, Mr Adaralegbe Akintayo of the Tpumpy Estate Development.
