A 14-year-old Russian model collapsed and died after suffering from “utter exhaustion” during a three-month modeling assignment in China, reports said.

Vlada Dzyuba collapsed into a coma after a 13-hour fashion show in Shanghai, China, on Wednesday.

The teen never regained consciousness and died two days later, reports said.

She was suffering from chronic meningitis exacerbated by exhaustion, according to reports.

By law, the teen was only allowed to work three hours a week, but according to reports, Dzyuba worked many more hours as part of a contract.

“She was calling me, saying ‘Mama, I am so tired. I so much want to sleep,’” her mother, Oksana, told the Siberian Times. “It must have been the very beginning of the illness. And then her temperature shot up.”

The mother begged her daughter to go the the hospital, but the girl was reportedly too afraid. The teen did also not have proper medical insurance, according to reports.

The teen’s mother had reportedly been trying to obtain a visa to fly out to be with her daughter before she passed away.

Police are investigating the death.
