11 Schools Kick-Start Season Five Of Dolphin Swimming League

More schools have identified with the first private school swimming competition, which will hold tomorrow in Lagos.

Already, 11 schools, including defending champions, Grange, have been certified for the tournament organised by Dynaspro Promotions Limited in collaboration with Advanta Interactive Limited, with the technical backing of the Nigeria Aquatics Federation and Lagos State Swimming Association.

Apart from Grange School, others listed for the tournament are Atlantic Hall, Meadow Hall, St Saviour’s Children International School (CIS), Lagos Preparatory and Secondary School (LPS), Lagoon/Whitesands, Greensprings Lagos, Riverbank and Italian Priory.

A club, Boken Aquatics, will also be part of the tournament this year.
The tournament, which has been sanctioned by the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) and Nigeria School Sport Federation (NSSF), produced most of the medallists at the last National Sports Festival in Delta State.

According to the coordinator of the tournament, Oluseyi Oyebode, the enthusiasm shown by the schools motivates the organisers to be creative in their approach to the competition every season.

“We are so excited that within a short time, the tournament has produced national champions as majority of medallists at the last National Sports Festival in Delta State are products of Dolphin Swimming League, this has motivated us to want to do more for the tournament.

“Now, more schools are coming on board and we want to continue to raise the standard through quality officiating and inspiring performance from the swimmers. We have new schools like Atlantic Hall joining the league and we are still hopeful that more schools will come on board as the league progresses this season,” Oyebode said.

He said the major sponsor of the championships, Rite Foods, has pledged their unflinching support at ensuring the success of this season.
