Why I Refused Admission Into Other Universities Except UNILAG – Laycon Opens Up

In an interview with Accelerate TV, the ‘Fall for me’ rapper stated that he had always known he would be successful.

Olamilekan Agbeleshebioba, the reality TV star, who is more popularly known as Laycon, is no doubt living the life of his dreams at the moment. The winner of BBNaija 2020 (Lockdown Edition) recently performed for the Recording Academy (Grammy) Press Play at Home programme and has also been having well attended shows in different parts of the country.

In an interview with Accelerate TV, the ‘Fall for me’ rapper stated that he had always known he would be successful.

He said, “I have always known I would be successful. When I say ‘successful’, I want you to know that people have different metrics for measuring success. My own idea of success would probably be different from that of someone else. The yardstick that a lot of people use to measure success is different from what I use. The bottom line is that I never had doubts about my success.”

The rapper also noted that he stayed home for three years in order to gain admission into the University of Lagos.

He added, “I stayed home for three years and I was getting admission offers into other schools but I wanted UNILAG, because I felt it would help me as an artiste. I believed I would be exposed to more growth as an artiste there.”

Asked about his dreams are as an entertainer, Laycon said, “My dream is to keep growing, evolving and elevating in all areas of my life. I want to go on a world tour and perform at major international cities. I would love to do a lot musically and to feature people I don’t have access to yet. I just need to keep working hard to get there.”
