WAYNE Rooney has sold his eco-friendly supercar after he was banned from the roads for drink-driving.
The Everton striker is the only owner of the 2015 BMW i8 – a plug-in hybrid which will do 0-62mph in 4.4 seconds and hit 155mph.
Rooney was slapped with a two-year driving ban and ordered to perform 100 hours of unpaid work after he was caught drink-driving during a now infamous night in Cheshire in September last year.
The England star has now sold his flashy hybrid to an approved BMW dealership in Blackpool – which is advertising it on Auto Trader for £64,995.
And being attached to the footballer isn’t doing much to add to the value of the motor.
The i8’s sale price is around £50,000 less than the price Rooney paid when he took delivery of the i8 in January 2015 – and is even less than other models from the same year on the car buying website.
The BMW has 20-inch alloy wheels, heated seats, sat-nav, Harman Kardon speakers and a head-up display.
It is fitted with a 1.5-litre engine and an electric motor which develops a combined 360bhp.
Don’t worry, though, as he’s still got a £500,000 fleet of cars to call on when the ban lifts – or if he wants to be chauffeured around.
Rooney reportedly also has an Audi SQ7, Bentley Continental GT and Range Rover Overfinch in his luxury garage.
