Varsity gets $ 27million worth of books from US-based NGO
Edwin Clark University (ECU), Kiagbodo, Delta State has received donation of a total of 22,000 books which worth is about 27 million US dollars, on Tuesday by a US based NGO.
Speaking at the unveiling ceremony of the presentation of the books with the theme ‘Books for Africa’ , the Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Timothy Olagbemiro, expressed his gratitude stressing further that the organisation got the donation from authors and publishers, from different countries to some universities in Africa.
Olagbemiro thanked the facilitators for their resilience and resourcefulness in getting a donor who paid 12,000 US dollars for the shipment
He went on to reveal that some of the books will also be donated to Delta University and to members of the International Federation of Women Lawyers, (FIDA), Delta chapter.
