Varsity Allays Fears Of Parents On Security

An Islamic faith-based higher institution, Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin has allayed the fears of students, workers and parents on the current security situation in Kwara South.

The university has its Agriculture department campus sited in Igbaja, Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.

Although the university said it was concerned about kidnappings around the country, it noted it had put measures in place to ensure safety on its campuses.

Addressing reporters in Ilorin ahead of the 15th convocation of the school this week, Vice Chancellor Prof Lateef Oladimeji said 2,192 students would graduate.

He said 76 graduands had first class, 1,008, second class upper division, 996, second class lower division, while 112 had third class honours.

Other graduands are 77 (post graduate diploma), 485 master’s and 79 doctoral degree holders.
