A senior lecturer at the Faculty of Management, University of Lagos (UNILAG), Akoka, Dr Samuel Ojogbo, has been accused of sexually assaulting a 20-year-old female student of the institution.
The university management confirmed the allegation to Tribune Online yesterday.
It was gathered that the 300-level student (name withheld) alleged that the lecturer invited her into his office on 22 August 2025, at about 12:00 noon, and, in the process, forcefully had carnal knowledge of her.
It was revealed that the student reported the incident to the police on 28 August 2025, after which she was taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
The university’s management, however, confirmed that it was aware of the allegation and that the police had already stepped in for appropriate action, while the university’s Safeguarding Centre was also providing support to the student.
Confirming the allegation, UNILAG’s spokesperson, Mrs Adejoke Alaga-Ibraheem, disclosed that a panel constituted by the university to investigate the matter had commenced investigation and that its findings would be made public through the appropriate channels upon completion.
Alaga-Ibraheem assured the public that the university would conduct a thorough investigation and ensure justice for all parties involved.
She also reaffirmed UNILAG’s zero-tolerance stance on all forms of sexual harassment, urging students and other members of the university community to always report any form of harassment or misconduct through the designated offices in the institution.
The university, she added, would certainly take appropriate action on such reports.
