Uk Varsity Holds Symposium In Honour Of Gowon

The University of Warwick in the United Kingdom (UK) is to hold a symposium in honour of General Yakubu Gowon.

The symposium is billed to be held on Thursday with the theme, ‘Nigerian reforms: what it means for the economy, happiness and social existence’.

Gowon, a former Head of State, obtained his PhD in Political Science at the University in 1984.

The one-day symposium, according to the organisers, is aimed at engaging Nigerian students to discuss and share opinions about their vision for Nigeria.

“This is to get perspectives from our speakers on what a Nigerian reformation would look like and what it promises for the state of our economy, happiness, and social existence.

“It would also offer a great networking opportunity to bring African students together, to promote dialogue, support and promote friendship.

“We hope this would inspire a new generation of leaders from all spheres and ignite our patriotism,” the organisers added.
