UI Inducts 90 Vets As Faculty Turns 60

Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at University of Ibadan (UI) has inducted 90 vet doctors at its 60th year.

 The celebration, with the theme: “Sixty years of Veterinary Education, Goals, Gains and Gaps”, held at its auditorium in conjunction with Veterinary Council of Nigeria (VCN).

Dr Adebanji Adeniyi, induction lecturer and awardee, stressed importance of professionalism and ethic in Veterinary Medical practice.

Prof Basil Ikede, a first faculty graduate in 1967, congratulated the faculty in the training of veterinarians who have contributed to research and education.

Welcoming inductees into the profession, he  encouraged them to be confident in administering their profession and bear the name “Doctor” with pride and humility.

Prof. Olufunke Ola-Davies, dean of faculty, urged inductees to uphold values by serving as worthy ambassadors.

She said the faculty operating under interim accreditation when she took over, and obtained full accreditation from National University Commission (NUC) in months after she assumed leadership.
