Tommy Hilfiger has a agreed a multi-year deal with British actor and rising Hollywood star Damson Idris, currently filming the highly anticipated Formula 1 racing film ‘APXGP’, as its new menswear brand ambassador.
The announcement was made with a partnership activation at the Las Vegas Grand Prix weekend on 16-18 November 2023.
Tommy Hilfiger said: “Formula 1 and a partnership with a rising star of Hollywood – we’ve been living in the fast lane this weekend
“I’ve always been inspired by pop culture and driven by the boundless opportunities of merging fashion and entertainment. Damson Idris is an icon of today and tomorrow, and we are thrilled to hit the accelerator on this partnership.”
Idris, who is best known for starring in John Singleton’s crime drama ‘Snowfall’, added: “Tommy Hilfiger is a true gentleman and icon of American fashion.
“Our passion for motorsport is mirrored in our attitude to style. I believe working together in the space between fashion and entertainment we can set a new standard in contemporary partnerships, creating iconic moments on the track and beyond.”
Celebrating the news in style, Tommy Hilfiger invited Idris and a group of his friends, including actors Kola Bokinni and Tosin Cole, as well as musician A-Star, to enjoy exclusive experiences while wearing the latest Tommy Hilfiger menswear range, which blends casual and tailored aesthetics “drawing inspiration from the glamorous Vegas entertainers of the ‘60s”.
Fuelled by a shared passion for Formula 1, Tommy Hilfiger is sponsoring Damson Idris’ forthcoming film, APXGP. Hailing from producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Joseph Kosinsky, the highly anticipated racing feature stars Brad Pitt as a former driver returning to Formula 1, with Idris playing his teammate on the fictional APXGP team.
The car featuring prominently in the film will showcase the iconic Tommy Hilfiger flag logo on the halo, front and side, as well as on driver kits and uniforms.
