President Bola Tinubu has approved the establishment of an additional Information and Communications Technology Hub in Ekiti State to bolster the activities of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Vice-President Kashim Shettima made this announcement during a one-day working visit to Ado Ekiti.
Governor Biodun Oyebanji had requested the establishment of a modern ICT facility in Ado Ekiti during his visit to Abuja for the MSME clinics. Shettima conveyed the President’s approval, stating, “The President has approved the creation of an additional ICT Hub in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State. This project will be completed within 90 days.”
Additionally, Shettima announced that all attendees at the MSME Clinic would receive a N150,000 grant each, an outright grant that beneficiaries will not need to repay. He reiterated Tinubu’s commitment to providing a conducive environment for businesses to thrive and necessary services for smooth operations.
During the visit, Shettima inaugurated several projects, including the 9.2km Omisanjana–Deeper Life–Ajebandele Road constructed by the Oyebanji administration, the Ekiti Adire Hub on Iworoko Road, and the Ekiti Fashion and Garment Hub within the MSME Clinic. He also inspected the Third Expanded National MSME Clinics (Ekiti 2024) Exhibition.
Shettima praised the collaboration between government partners and agencies such as SMEDAN, NEXIM, ITF, and NAFDAC, alongside private sector partners including MAN and NACCIMA, in transforming entrepreneurial dreams into reality.
He commended Governor Oyebanji, saying, “For you in Ekiti, you have never had it so good. I am quite delighted the crème de la crème of Ekiti aligned themselves for the governor for the greater good of Ekiti State.”
Governor Oyebanji expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for his support and encouraged MSME operators and business-minded individuals to leverage the clinic’s resources to transform their dreams, grow their businesses, and contribute to the state’s development. He appealed to the political class in Ekiti to unite for the state’s development, emphasizing that politics was over and focusing on progress.
Senate Leader Opeyemi Bamidele and Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Mr. Dele Alake, also praised Oyebanji for his leadership and commitment to Ekiti’s development.
