The Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has approved the release of the sum of N120 million as bail- out funds to four State-owned Tertiary Institutions in the state.
The benefitted institutions are Kwara State College of Education, Ilorin; College of Education Oro, College of Education Lafiagi and Kwara State College of Arabic and Islamic Legal Studies.
The state Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Dr Alabi Afees Abolore made this known in Ilorin on Thursday (February 16, 2023) while addressing Journalists.
The Commissioner disclosed this in a statement signed by the Press Secretary of the Ministry, Hajia Mansurat Amuda-kannike, and made available to pressmen in the state.
Dr Abolore explained that the approval for the release of the funds was considered as an intervention to aid the smooth running of the institutions under the AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq led Administration in the State.
“We would all recall that similar several interventions of this nature have been witnessed by our Tertiary Institutions since inception of the current administration led by His Excellency, Mallam Abdurahman Abdulrazaq” he said.
He urged the management of the benefitting institutions to judiciously utilise the funds in order to serve the purpose for which it was released.
The Commissioner expressed the readiness of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq led Administration at improving the status of all the Citadels of learning and urged the institutions to complement the efforts of Government through upgrading their teaching methodology in order to achieve an enhanced qualitative academic service delivery.
Dr Abolore also appealed to all Heads of Tertiary Institutions to be steadfast and committed towards supporting the policy direction of the present administration in the state
