Last year, Tecno released two interesting smartphones as part of its Phantom series. They are called the Phantom X2 and X2 Pro. Now they are joined by the Phantom V Fold.
Here’s What We Know
The new one has been announced as the brand’s first smartphone equipped with a bendable display. The LTPO AMOLED panel is designed by TCL. The display supports a refresh rate of 120 Hz, has a resolution of 2000 x 2096 pixels and has a diagonal of 7.85″.
Half of the back side is taken up by an additional screen. It too is based on an LTPO AMOLED matrix at 120Hz. However, the diagonal is 6.42″ and the resolution is 1080 x 2550 pixels. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus glass.
The second part of the back cover is covered by eco-leather. The top has a large camera with 50 MP + 50 MP + 13 MP resolution with 2x zoom, but no OIS. The angle of view of the ultra-wide-angle module is 120 degrees. In addition, the Tecno Phantom V Fold got two front cameras at once – 32 MP and 16 MP.
At the heart of the smartphone was a 4nm Dimensity 9000+ processor, complemented by 12GB of RAM. The storage capacity is 256/512GB depending on the modification. The 5000 mAh battery can be charged to 100 per cent in 55 minutes thanks to support for fast recharging technology with a power of 45 watts.
The Tecno Phantom V Fold measures 159.4 x 72 x 14.2-14.5mm when folded and 159.4 x 140.4 x 6.9mm when unfolded. The novelty weighs 299g. The smartphone also boasts Android 13-based HiOS 13 Fold firmware, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, NFC and stereo speakers.
Price & When We Can Expect It
The Tecno Phantom V Fold is scheduled to launch in the second quarter of 2023. Pricing has been announced, but only for the Indian market – $1100 and $1220 depending on the modification.
