TASUED Alumni Donate N39m Furniture, Hail Varsity’s Growth

The Alumni Association of Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, Ogun State has commended the institution’s growth and contributions to education in Nigeria, describing it as a beacon of excellence in manpower development.

The association’s National President, Mr. Bolaji Oladeji, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday while congratulating the university’s leadership and graduands on its 16th convocation.

Oladeji revealed that the alumni had donated modern chairs and tables worth N39 million to fully equip the 2,000-capacity lecture theatre it built for the university last year.

He stated, “The alumni are immensely grateful to the university management for their unwavering commitment to the steady growth of Tai Solarin University of Education. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Oluwole Banjo, has left an indelible legacy of partnership, collaboration, and inclusive administration, which has further solidified TASUED’s success story.

“In line with our commitment to supporting the university’s development, the 2,000-capacity lecture theatre, donated by the Alumni Association last year, has now been fully equipped with modern chairs and tables valued at N39 million to make the hall functional and ready for academic activities.”

Oladeji also lauded Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, for equipping the lecture hall with six air conditioners worth N6 million, further enhancing its suitability for use.

He revealed that the alumni association has approved the construction of a 144-bed postgraduate hall of residence, which is set to commence by March 2025 as part of activities marking the university’s 20th Founder’s Day anniversary.

“This new project underscores the commitment of the Alumni Association to the continuous development of TASUED. It is our collective desire to see the university rise to greater heights,” he said.

While congratulating the graduands for successfully completing their academic journey despite the challenges, Oladeji praised the association’s members at home and abroad for their unwavering support and dedication.

He urged them to remain steadfast in advancing the university’s growth and sustaining its reputation as a leading institution of education in Nigeria.

“We must continue to champion the development of our alma mater and ensure that TASUED remains a model of excellence,” Oladeji said
