TASUED Alumni Cry Out Over Exorbitant Fee Hike, Demand Reversal

The Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED) Alumni Association has been thrown into turmoil following the announcement of a staggering 400% increase in alumni fees, from ₦5,000 to ₦20,000.

A statement made available to Vanguard, stated that the hike has sparked widespread outrage among alumni members.

The Alumni Association President, Bolaji Julius Oladeji, unilaterally announced the fee increase, citing no compelling reasons for this drastic measure.

This move has been widely criticized as arbitrary and exploitative, sparking calls for an immediate reversal to the original fee of ₦5,000.

Abiodun Matthew Oladipupo (Senator Big Show) , former Transport Director of the Students Union, and fellow alumni, also condemned the fee hike, stating: “This unjustifiable increase will disenfranchise many alumni, who are already struggling to make ends meet.

“We demand an immediate reversal to the original fee, and a more transparent and inclusive approach to decision-making within the Alumni Association.”

The statement also noted that the alumni community is united in their opposition to this fee hike, and we urge the Alumni Association to reconsider this decision and prioritize the welfare and interests of its members.
