To commemorate the International Day of Education on January 24, Nigeria’s leading ISP, Spectranet demonstrated its unwavering commitment to education through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. The event, themed around the intersection of technology and education, brought together students from four schools—Mbari Mbayo Secondary School, Yabatech Secondary School, MoretteVille Heights School, and Shiny Star Secondary School—to highlight the critical role of connectivity in empowering future generations.
The International Day of Education, established by the United Nations in 2018, emphasizes the importance of education as a fundamental human right and a catalyst for global peace and sustainable development. In line with this, Spectranet curated a memorable session to inspire and educate young minds about the possibilities of blending technology with learning.
During the tech and career Talks, Mr. Gaurav Verma, Spectranet’s Head of Sales, spoke passionately about the company’s innovative products and their benefits, while Emmanuel Ojong, Spectranet’s Software Integration Engineer guided students in exploring career paths in technology. Godwin Okhawere, Brand Communication Lead at Spectranet shared inspirational stories, encouraging students to leverage connectivity for personal and academic growth.
Students participated in a competition centred on Spectranet’s services. The winning school was awarded a cash prize, along with branded items to motivate and reward their efforts. Students also toured Spectranet’s server room, power room, and technical facilities, gaining firsthand insights into the operations of a leading internet service provider.
