Showcasing Taiwo Afolayan, The Young Serial Entrepreneur

AFOLAYAN Taiwo Ibrahim a.k.a ATI (born 4th January, 1988) is a multinational award winning Art & Digital Consultant and Humanitarian. He’s the Founder/CEO of Argitech Limited and the Publisher/Editor-in-Chief at The Fashionistar Magazine. He is of Igbomina-Yoruba descent, and hails from Irepodun Local Government in Kwara State, Nigeria. He studies for a master’s degree in Financial Engineering at WorldQuant University, New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with Second Class Upper Division from the Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo, Nigeria. He also has a National and Higher National Diploma in Computer Science from The Federal Polytechnic Ede, Osun State, Nigeria.

 

Taiwo is an alumnus of Huawei University, Quantic School of Business and Technology, Scholars International Institute of Technology, Aveta Business Institute, Cyber Security and Infrastructure Security Agency, Orange VFx Academy, EbonyLife Creative Academy, Shola Animashaun Photography Academy, and New Horizon Learning Institute Nigeria. Taiwo is an Associate Member of African Data Engineering and Science Association (ADESA) and a Certified Management Consultant. He’s also a member of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) Network, YouthLead, Internet Society, Amnesty International, African Youth Union Commission, African CleanUp Initiative, Small Business Network of Nigeria, Nigerian Youth SDGs Volunteer, Lagos State Volunteer Corp, Nigerian Youth SDGs Volunteer, Junior Chamber International (JCI), Global Entrepreneurship Network, World Youth Forum, YALI Alumni of the US Department of State and the Young Business Leaders of Nigeria.

 

Taiwo has also worked with an international community-based organization on International programmes. He volunteers at the United Nations Volunteers, and Junior Chamber International (JCI) where he contributes his quota to national growth and global development. Taiwo has volunteered as a creative designer on digital sexuality education awareness for several groups including UNFPA, UNESCO, UNICEF, YouthLEAD and LoveFrankie. Taiwo has travelled to Dubai, Kenya, Ghana, Togo and Benin Republic experiencing new culture, lifestyle and knowing the people of these countries.

 

He initiated Skills4Youth towards achieving United Nations Global Goals on SDG4 (Quality Education) in Nigeria, Africa and beyond. He’s also a member of Volunteer Teacher’s Club for volunteer teaching, skills2school session and helping renovate structurally defected schools which won “Community Champion” Award during the 2020 PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Annual General Meeting (AGM) Nigeria. He’s an MTN Foundation Influencer on Anti-Substance Abuse Program (ASAP) contributing to the significant reduction in the rate of first-time users of addictive substances and drugs amongst Nigerian youths. Taiwo funded the repair and beautification of his alma mater, King Ado Senior High School, where he was also inaugurated as a member of the School-based Management Committee (SBMC), Lagos – Island District, Lagos – Nigeria. Through these experiences, he developed strong project coordination and implementation skills. He was nominated for the 2019 Entrepreneur Africa Prize for Youth Empowerment and 2021 Humanitarian Award Global for Outstanding Philanthropist. Taiwo enjoys focusing on the topics on entrepreneurship, self-development and has a strong passion for youth empowerment.

 

In order to break the chain of infection with COVID-19, he became the MBRU Community Immunity Ambassador and was responsible for protecting himself and his community from COVID-19. However in order to combat hunger and disconnection between people, 100 people, including family members, friends and the needy in his community, were helped by a proven record of the value of Four Hundred Thousand Naira (N400,000) using a bank mobile app with a minimum of N500 airtime and a maximum of N10,000 cash during the quarantine exercise.

 

As the Lagos State Coordinator for the African Youth Union Commission (AYUC), we started to raise awareness about Tejuosho Shopping Mall, where we shared our knowledge with Lagosians about taking full responsibility, explained the importance of wearing face masks and how to prevent themselves from Covid-19 (CoronaVirus Disease 2019). 100 pieces of Face masks were given to their customers entering the mall as a way of encouraging people to always wear their face masks because the Coronavirus is real.

He was a 2019 recipient of the BIZZ Business Excellence Award from World Confederation of Businesses (WORLDCOB) for his leadership, management style, innovation, imagination, corporate social responsibility and achievement in the city of Houston, Texas, USA. Taiwo’s a winner of 2020 Prestigious Online Presence Awards (POPA) for the “Humanitarian of the Year Award” in Lagos, Nigeria. He was the 2020 recipient of the International Education Summit & Awards as “Distinguished Director of the Year” for his leadership and corporate social responsibility in education in the city of New Delhi, India. He was a 2020 Global Enterprise Experience participant and United Nation Association of New Zealand Awardee with team members from Canada, Hong Kong, Nepal, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria and South Africa for the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations and BMW Group Intercultural Innovation Award in partnership with the United Nations Association of New Zealand to advance the United Nations’ goals of global peace, justice and well-being.
