Senator Ganiyu Solomon Commends DG Lagos State Sports Commission On Giant Strides In Sports Development

 

Senator Ganiyu Olanrewaju Solomon has commended the Director General of the Lagos State Sports Commission, Lekan Fatodu, for what he described as giant strides in the development and repositioning of sports in Lagos State. The Senator gave the commendation during a courtesy visit to the Director General at the Lagos State Sports Commission’s office at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, where he engaged the Commission’s leadership on the evolving sports ecosystem in the state.

 

Speaking during the visit, Senator Solomon expressed satisfaction with the renewed momentum being witnessed across sports administration, athlete development, facility management, and stakeholder engagement under the current leadership of the Commission. He noted that Lagos State is fast setting the pace nationally through deliberate reforms, transparency, and a strong focus on grassroots sports development.

Mr. Fatodu, in his remarks, thanked Senator Ganiyu Solomon for the visit and words of encouragement, describing them as a strong validation of the Commission’s reform-driven agenda inspired by the passion, steadfast support, and wholehearted commitment of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to sports in the state. Fatodu reiterated the Commission’s commitment to building a sustainable sports development framework anchored on professionalism, accountability, private-sector partnerships, and international best practices.

 

The visit concluded with a brief tour of the facility and mutual assurances of continued collaboration and support in advancing sports as a critical pillar of human capital development and socio-economic progress in Lagos State.
