Reps Member in Niger Awards Scholarship to 12 Students to Study in India
Abubakar Lado, a member representing Suleja/Gurara/Tafa Constituency of Niger State in the Federal House of Representatives, has presented scholarship to 12 students in his constituency to study Nursing, Midwifery and Physiotherapy at the NOIDA International University, India.
Eight of the students are to study general Nursing and Midwifery, while four will study Physiotherapy from 2015 to 2019.
According to Lado, the scholarship was designed to train people, especially in the medical profession, in order to have adequate health personnel in his constituency. Having discovered that the major complaint of his people during his elections campaigns in most polling units were on health care delivery.
The Federal House of Reps member, who promised that the scholarship would be an annual scheme, said that the beneficiaries were selected on merits. Urged them to stay focused on their studies and to ensure they remain good ambassadors of the country.
One of the beneficiaries, Miss Maryam Talatu, who expressed delight over the scholarship and promised to study hard to make the sponsor, her parents and the community proud.
Other beneficiaries are Fatima Abubakar, Aisha Ismail, Maryam Garba, Rashida Abubakar, Zinatu Ibrahim, Maryam Isa, Aisha Abdullahi and Maryam Abdulhamid, Abubakar Musa and Musa Abdulmuminu, who are to study Physiotherapy.
