Prof. Soremekun Appointed FUOYE Vice Chancellor
Federal University Oye-Ekiti, has appointed Professor Kayode Soremekun as its new Vice-Chancellor for a five year tenure recently.
Until this appointment, Prof. Soremekun was a lecturer at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN).
Prof. Soremekun, who had his Ph.D in International Relations with interest in the dynamics of petroleum energy in international policy and politics, at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria in 1984, attained full professorship thereafter.
He began his academic journey at the prestigious King’s College, Lagos where he took his secondary education from 1972 to 1976. He then proceeded to University of Ife, now Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), for his first degree.
Within three years of graduation, he obtained a Master of Science (M. Sc.) in International Relations still from O. A. U.
He has also received many post-graduate and post-doctoral qualifications from University of Maryland, College Park USA, Post-Doctoral Studies Institute of Social Studies, The Hague, Netherlands, among others.
This academic luminary has taught at OAU and University of Lagos (UNILAG) respectively at different times before his appointment as the vice-chancellor of FUOYE.
