The 3rd edition of Eko Mi Awards came up on Friday, July 17, 2026 at the prestigious Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos.
Anchored by respected compere/comedian, Gbenga Adeyinka and Princess Aminat Elegushi, the event kicked off with a red carpet at 5pm and the award proper began at 6pm.
The Governor of Lagos State, Gov. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu was represented by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Barrister Abimbola Salu-Hundeyin, who disclosed that the governor had wanted to be physically present but had an urgent state matter to attend to. She presented the speech of the Governor and also picked up his award on his behalf.
Other award recipients included the Vulcanizers Association of Lagos, who were recognized for their contributions to environmental affairs in the state, through their collection of used and disposed tires across the state.
Other award recipients include Honorable Seun Osiyemi, the Commissioner for Transportation, Mr. Tokunbo Wahab, the Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, St. Ives Specialist Hospital, Oba Saheed Elegushi, Mr. Bode Agoro, Head of Service, Hon. James Faleke, Journalist Hangout, Mr. Mayor Akinpelu amongst others.
The Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo was also presented the Friend of Lagos award, which was picked up by the Edo State Commissioner for Information, Mr. Kazeem Afegbua.
Guests were also entertained by lady talking drummer sensation, Ara as well as the Eyo Bajulaiye royal troop.
