NUC Accredits 17 Courses in Plateau State University
The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted full accreditation to 17 new academic programmes of the Plateau State University (PLASU), Bokkos,
According to the Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Doknan Sheni, who made this known in Bokkos on Sunday, the institution needed the accreditation to operate as a full-fledged university.
He said that with the accreditation, the university would admit more than 1,000 students in the 2016/2017 academic year.
Sheni said the university had been admitting between 300 and 400 students but with the accreditation, it would be admitting between 1,000 and 3,000 applicants.
The VC lauded Tertiary Education Trust Fund for assisting in the infrastructural development of the university to the tune of N4 billion.
He also commended the Chairman of the Governing Council of the University, Prof. Attahiru Jega for the role he played in the accreditation of the programmes.
