NELFUND Distances Self From Fake Website For Foreign Visa Sponsorship

The Management of theย Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND)ย has warned Nigerians to beware of a fraudulent website using its name and logo to offer foreign visa sponsorship.

A statement by Nasir Ayitogo on behalf of the Director, Corporate Communications at NELFUND, Mrs Oseyemi Oluwatuyi on Tuesday in Abuja, noted that the website which was being promoted on Facebook, redirects users to a site: labari.com.ng

The statement partly reads: โ€œNELFUND categorically states that it has no affiliation with this website or any similar scheme.

โ€œNELFUNDโ€™s mission is to solely provide educational loans to eligible Nigerian students to further their academic pursuits within Nigeria.

โ€œNELFUND therefore does not offer visa sponsorships or related services, and any claims to the contrary are entirely false and misleading.

โ€œThe fraudulent website is using NELFUNDโ€™s name and logo without authorization to deceive the public, and the fund strongly advises everyone to exercise caution and refrain from engaging with this site or providing any personal information.

โ€œNELFUND is taking immediate steps to address this situation and has reported the matter to the appropriate authorities for further investigation.

โ€œWe urge the public to rely solely on information provided through NELFUNDโ€™s official channels, including website, www.nelf.gov.ng, and verified social media accounts.

โ€œAny communication from NELFUND will be through these channels, and the public are encouraged to verify any suspicious information directly with us.

โ€œNELFUND remains committed to supporting the educational aspirations of Nigerian students and will continue to uphold the highest standards of integrity in all our operations. We thank the public for their continued trust and support.โ€
