Super Falcons skipper Asisat Oshoala has revealed her father’s reaction on how she chose to celebrate her the third goal against Australia on Thursday at the ongoing FIFA Women World Cup.
The Super Falcons striker, during the enthralling encounter in Brisbane, extended Nigeria’s advantage over Australia in the second half.
The Barcelona ace broke into a shirtless celebration after netting the ball in the match that ended 3-2 in favour of Nigeria.
Oshoala took off her jersey leaving just her bra top on the pitch, an act which elicited diverse reactions from football spectators and the online community.
But some implied Oshoala’s shirtless victory act was spurred out of intense excitement, arguing she was still cladded to many other women who walk on the streets almost nude.
But the African football queen’s father wasn’t left out on the list of persons that expressed reservations about her celebration style.
She shared this via her Instagram page, stating her father expressed displeasure over her style of celebration.
She shared photos of some victorious moments from the match captured on pitch including the shirtless ones.
Accompanying the post, the five-time African Women Footballer winner wrote: “My dad is definitely not happy with my choice of celebration but then again, Life is a collection of MOMENTS. #Alhamdulilah #Grateful #Moments.”
