Mkpat-Abasi Floats Education Grant

The Houston, Texas Chapter of Mkpat-abasi, an association of citizens of Mkpatenin and Ikot Abasi Local Government areas of Akwa Ibom State, resident in America, is floating a special education grant for students in Nigerian tertiary institutions.

The grant which is meant for needy or poor students of Mkpatenin and Ikot Abasi local government councils of Akwa Ibom State is a one-time scholarship or education grant.

The special education award attracts a lump sum of N200,000 depending on the programme of study and is based on first come first served.

A statement by the president of Mkpat-abasi, Houston chapter, Mr. Marshall Akpanokop, said that applicants must be indigent students that have enrolled in polytechnics or universities in Nigeria during the 2023/2024 academic session.

According to him, such applicants must have written at least one semester examination and passed at a 3.0 GPA. Transcripts of such applicants are to be authenticated by their heads of department and submitted in portable document format (PDF) with an application form to be obtained from https://mkpat-abasi.org/grant/ not later than June 30, 2024.

Akpanokop urged students in the affected local government areas in Akwa Ibom State to avail themselves of the opportunity to support their educational quest, stressing that he will be in Nigeria later in the year to present the award to the beneficiaries.
