
Minister collaborates German Embassy to develop school in Oyo
The former Minister of State for the FCT, Jumoke Akinjide, along with the German Embassy in Nigeria have collaborated in building a block of six classrooms and sinking a borehole at St. James Primary School, Akaran, in Ona-Ara Council Area of Oyo State.
According to punch, the collaboration also includes; the construction of a library, headmaster’s office and 180 sets of chair and tables for the school. This was revealed during the handover ceremony on Thursday, 3rd of November 2016.
The former Minister of State for the FCT, represented by Mrs. Funmi Aigbomian, said that Jumoke’s passion for education of children, has led to her determination to complete the project.
“The school was in a deplorable state but with the collaboration of OAF and its development partners, the school can now boast of six new classrooms, a library, headmaster’s office, 180 sets of tables and chairs and other teaching aids.
“We are grateful for the generosity and magnanimity displayed by the development partners. I must also thank the German Embassy for donating a motorized borehole to the school. Together we have achieved and realised this dream of handing over these facilities to promote learning in the school,” she said.
