MAAUN Varsity Signs Mou With Canadian College

The founder of the Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN) Group of Universities, Professor Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, announced that the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology in Canada will significantly enhance educational standards among students.

This partnership focuses on online English Language Training, student exchange programs, and other mutually beneficial initiatives.

Professor Gwarzo emphasized that the agreement serves as a transformative step towards equipping students with essential technological skills, preparing them for future challenges.

The MAAUN Group consists of the following institutions: the Canadian University of Nigeria in Abuja, Franco British International University in Kaduna, Maryam Abacha American University of Niger in Maradi, and Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria in Kano.

Professor Gwarzo signed the MoU on behalf of the four universities, while David Agnew represented Seneca Polytechnic. During the event, he expressed his commitment to ensuring the effective implementation of the MoU, which aims to foster research and innovation for academic excellence.

He commended the dedication of both Seneca and the MAAUN Group, expressing optimism that this partnership will establish a robust foundation for cooperation between the two institutions. Professor Gwarzo reiterated the MAAUN Group’s commitment to fully implementing the MoU and achieving its objectives.

The MoU, signed on Thursday, September 4, 2025, reflects Professor Gwarzo’s ongoing efforts to connect the four universities with other prestigious institutions worldwide, promoting innovation and research within the MAAUN Group.

Through this agreement, Seneca and the MAAUN Group will share expertise and information while providing support to achieve their common goals. Areas of collaboration include offering online English language training to students from the MAAUN Group of Universities and creating opportunities for students from the MAAUN Group to continue their education at Seneca.

Also, other areas are creating opportunities for employees from the MAAUN Group to receive education consultation from Seneca and developing collaborative programs, with credential type length and academic focus to be determined by Seneca and the MAAUN Group.

Others are supporting the recruitment of students local to the MAAUN Group to attend Seneca, identifying methods for the MAAUN Group to promote and market learning opportunities at Seneca as well as pursuing any other areas of co-operation to be mutually.
