
Lagos State University Directorate of Advancement (LASUDA) has stressed the need for alumni to contribute to development of their alma mater.
Speaking at a virtual event: “LASU: This Mater Matters”, Director, Prof.Rafiu Okuneye, advised members of LASU Alumni Association to give back to their alma mater.
Over 200 alumni attended the event, where millions of naira were pledged and donated to aid the university.
Okuneye noted importance of alumni contributions to growth. He said the prestige of their alma mater impacts the value of their degrees.
“Your certificate is an asset, and its value appreciates with standing of your alma mater. Beyond certificate, your experiences at the university shape your outlook on life. The Alma Mater always matter,” he said.
Okuneye praised the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello for laying a foundation as the first director and thanked the alumni for their support to the university Olatunji-Bello hailed LASUDA for sustaining the programme, began in 2022 under the late Prof. Adeyinka Okubeno-Dipeolu.
