Kendrick Lamar scored the most nominations of This Year’s MTV Video Music Award

Kendrick Lamar, The Weeknd, and Katy Perry lead the list.

The nominations for this year’s MTV Video Music Awards are out, announced for the first time via an “elite squad of Instagram stars” on Insta Live.

Kendrick Lamar scored the most nominations of the year with eight nods for his video “Humble,” while Katy Perry and The Weeknd are tied in second place with five nominations each. From today, fans can vote across eight VMA categories, including Artist Of The Year, Video Of The Year, Best Collaboration, and more.

Following the elimination of gendered categories at this year’s MTV Movie & TV Awards, the VMAs will follow suit and combine Best Female Video and Best Male Video into a single category. The Best Fight Against The System category, which debuted at the MTV Movie & TV Awards in May as a celebration of projects that inspire viewers to fight injustice, is also included here.

The 2017 MTV VMAs will air live on Sunday, August 27 at 8pm ET/PT. Read the full list of nominees below:
