Kate Middleton honored Scotland by wearing a classic tartan coat as she touched down in Dundee on her and her husband’s first official visit of 2019.
The Duchess of Cambridge was there to open the new V&A Museum and as per usual, she did so in an ensemble that got everyone talking online. Not only is her Alexander McQueen coat one that she’s worn on several occasions in the past, but Middleton accessorized her recycled fashion with a chic little box bag from Instagram-famous Turkish label Manu Atelier. Box bags are a favorite of Queen Elizabeth II and have been somewhat of a staple in the history of the monarchy, but Middleton’s iteration is something more in line with the wardrobe of a keenly stylish woman circa 2019.
We’d expect nothing less from Middleton, whose fashion choices have always inspired the masses and been deemed approachable, accessible, and effortlessly chic. Even when she repurposes a pretty plaid coat, albeit one from a luxury fashion house, her vibe feels fresh, covetable, and attainable. With her cool, social media-friendly box bag and her trusty old McQueen outerwear, you might even go so far as to say that this royal, she’s just like us.
