The creative team of Jopabee Arts Academy, a foremost talent development and creative academy, has hinted of plans to host Ibom Dance Festival 2024.
The team, led by Dr. Ekaette Brian who is a lecturer in the Department of Performing Arts, Akwa Ibom State University, made their plans known on Thursday, June 27, 2024 during a visit to the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Entertainment, Mr David Sergeant (Utang Akwa Ibom).
During the visit, Dr Brian established the commitment of Jopabee Arts Academy to discover, nurture and promote talents in Akwa Ibom youths over the years. She said the Ibom Dance festival is just one of the initiatives from her stables, which also invests in movie productions and other events.
Dr. Ekaette submitted that the visit, was to intimate the governor’s aide of the inauguration of the Festival Committee, which takes place at the Akwa Ibom State Council for Arts and Culture by 8AM on Monday, July 1,2024.
Responding on behalf of Utang Akwa Ibom, Mr Nelson NseAbasi said the Ibom Dance Festival aligns perfectly with the ideology of Pastor Umo Eno, who believes and invests in homegrown talents. He gave thumbs up to the initiative and assured the team of a positive feedback after proper briefing of his principal.
