The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has promised to offer scholarships to foreign students who perform “exceptionally” in the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The Board Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede urged foreign candidates who wish to study in Nigeria to look forward to the UTME form which will be available for sale in December.
This was made known in a press statement released on Sunday, November 11, 2018, by the board’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin.
According to the statement, the JAMB registrar, Oloyede said, “scholarship would be available to some foreign nationals who perform exceptionally in the examination”.
Oloyede according to Premium Times also urged regional universities to ensure their students collaborate with their counterparts in the sub-region with a view to finding solutions to problems confronting West Africa.
“This document will be made available at all Nigeria missions abroad at a very affordable price”.
Meanwhile, JAMB has warned prospective candidates of the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination to beware of fake news regarding sale of UTME forms.
The Exam Board on its Twitter page on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, advised the candidates to ignore any course saying the sales of UTME forms has begun.
