EVERYBODY LOVES JENIFA

Another thrilling comedy from the Jenifa’s series. Jenifa’s popularity fades when a shady new neighbor, Lobster, outshines her charity work. In Ghana, Jenifa and friends face a deadly drug baron after a bag of drugs is mistakenly left in their rental.

It’s been years since they last made it home for Christmas and with good reason. Bullying cousins, daily reminders of past failures and a Mother-in-Law with no good to say, but this year is different, Grandpa may be dying! The challenges of life in Lagos mean maybe it’s time for a change. Family drama, romance and surprises are all in store, but only if the Danfo manages to actually get them there.

Directed by Sebastian Ukwa and written by Addy Scriptorium, the movie is produced by Steve Gukas and Dotun Olakunri. The cast include Seun kentebe, Valerie Odunukwe, Korede Lawal, Loveth Ogbene, Myde Glover, Lydia Njohn, and veteran actors like Patrick Doyle and Carol King.

THE WAITER

Richard Ayodeji Makun, known as AY, has just released his latest movie, “The Waiter.” Packed with action, suspense, and a touch of humour, the movie promises a thrilling ride that will keep you hooked from start to finish.

“The Waiter” follows the unexpected journey of a waiter who finds himself in the middle of a hotel invasion. What begins as an ordinary shift soon spirals into chaos, thrusting him into an adventure with life-or-death stakes.

Deyemi Okanlawon, Shaffy Bello, Sushine Rosman and AY himself lead the cast and are joined by Regina Daniels, Rahama Sadau, Williams Uchemba, May Edochie, Toke Makinwa, Obi Cubana, and more. Directed by Toka McBaror and produced by Ayo Makun Productions.

CHRISTMAS IN LAGOS

Directed by Jade Osiberu, the rom-com set against the backdrop of Detty December, follows a group of characters navigating love, heartbreak & self-discovery during the festive season.

Romance is in the air when the beat drops for Lagos’ Detty December. Fiyin is convinced her The plot centers on Fiyin (Teniola), who, after a recent heartbreak, is convinced her best friend Elo (Shalom) is her soulmate. Complications arise when Elo returns from New York ready to propose to his secret girlfriend, Yagazie (Angel). At the same time, 59-year-old Gbemi (Shaffy Bello) is caught between her longtime boyfriend (Wale Ojo) and a former lover and high school sweetheart (Richard Mofe Damijo).

Meanwhile, London-born Ivie (Rayxia Ojo) returns to Lagos for the holidays with dreams of experiencing the ultimate Detty December. Unexpectedly, she falls deeply in love with Ajani (Ladipoe).

The holiday romance showcases a talented Nollywood cast, including Shaffy Bello, Wale Ojo, Richard Mofe-Damijo (RMD), Shalom C. Obiago, Rayxia Ojo, Teniola Aladese, Angel Anosike, and Folu Storms. The film also features top Afrobeats stars such as Waje, Adekunle Gold, Ayra Starr, and Ladipoe.

A GHETTO LOVE STORY

“A Ghetto Love Story” is a poignant romantic drama centered around Obinna and Stella, childhood friends whose dreams of a lifelong connection are overshadowed by life’s harsh realities. Despite their humble backgrounds, their bond brings them immense joy.

The film, directed by Daniel Oriahi, produced by Basketmouth, and written by Victoria Eze, aka Mizvick, has sparked excitement amongst Nollywood lovers. SEVEN DOORS

“Seven Doors transports viewers to 18th and 19th-century Nigeria, weaving intrigue with themes of love, power and tradition.

In “Seven Doors” Femi Adebayo steps into the regal role of a Yoruba king, while Chioma Akpotha portrays his Igbo queen, bringing to life a tale of kingship, kinship, family, love, betrayal, and restitution. Their union, a symbol of harmony, soon becomes a battleground when a Hausa investor arrives with plans that challenge the kingdom’s traditions. As tensions mount, the story unravels against a backdrop of cultural forces that shape their world.

Joining Femi Adebayo and Chioma Akpotha in “Seven Doors” are an all-star cast including Adebayo Salami, Ronke Oshodi, Muyiwa Ademola, Jide Kosoko, Aisha Lawal, Yinka Quadri, and Gabriel Afolayan, among others.

THIN LINE

Pastor Raymond, a charismatic leader known for his spirit-filled sermons and practical view on relationships and marriages, finds himself in the clutches of sin. ALAKADA BAD AND BOUJEE

Toyin Abraham’s movie, “Alakada! Bad and Boujee” will be the fifth film in the popular “Alakada” film series, after the first “Alakada” in 2009, the second “Alakada 2” in 2013, the third, “Alakada Reloaded” in 2017, and “Fate of Alakada: The Party Planner” in 2020.

The series portrays a young girl, Yetunde (Toyin Abraham) from a poor family background with an inferiority complex who makes up stories and lies about her financial and social status to fit in with the crowd.

Directed by Adebayo Tijani and Starring Bimbo Ademoye, Bimbo Akintola, Bukunmi Adeaga-Ilori, Chimezie Imo, Idowu Adeyemi, Ik ogbonna, Ini Edo, Kola Ajeyemi, Lizzy Jay, Odunlade Adekola, Okusanya Lolade, Olumide Oworu, Ronke Odusanya, Toyin Abraham.

SUSPICION

Voke, gifted with extraordinary powers, seeks vengeance for his friend’s murder. As he delves into black magic, he confronts betrayal and moral challenges. Ultimately, he must decide how far he’ll go for justice.

Stan Nze (“RattleSnake: The Ahanna Story,” “Colourless,” “The Blind Date”) leads the cast as Voke, a man who wields ancient Juju powers and embarks on a vengeful quest after his goddaughter’s murder. The narrative explores the intersection of traditional African mysticism and contemporary moral questions as Voke navigates a complex world of black magic.

The film, produced by Tosin Igho’s Divergent Films, features an ensemble cast including Omowunmi Dada, Kalu Ikeagwu, Uzor Arukwe, Shaffy Bello, and Richard Mofe-Damijo, who also serves as executive producer. Divergent Studios handled the supernatural elements through a mix of practical effects and CGI.

ONE NIGHT GUESTS

The film’s plot is about Olumide, a wealthy father who upholds a heartwarming tradition of hiring Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, and an elf to brighten his daughter’s Christmas.

 However, this year’s festivities take a chaotic turn when two separate trios arrive at his doorstep, each claiming to be the official holiday characters. The ensuing comedy unfolds into a touching exploration of identity, privilege and the true meaning of family.

Through laughter and suspense, Olumide embarks on a transformative journey, discovering the joy of unexpected connections and the power of empathy.

The star-studded cast includes notable actors from both Nigeria and Ghana, such as Chidi Mokeme, Ini Edo, Yvonne Okoro, Majid Michel, Warri Pikin, Roselyn Ngissah, James Gardiner, Lasisi Elenu, and Akah Nnani.
